Glycoproteomics is a testing method that identifies which sugar molecules are attached to specific proteins and where they are located. This information is used mainly to check the safety and function of biological therapeutics, including monoclonal antibodies.
Glycoproteomics is a specialized analytical method that studies sugar molecules (glycans) attached to proteins to identify site-specific variations. By measuring intact glycopeptides, it detects micro-heterogeneity (different sugars at one site) and macro-heterogeneity (presence of a sugar). The process breaks proteins into peptides while keeping sugar bonds intact, allowing mass spectrometry to decode sugar structures.
