CLND
CLND means Chemiluminescent Nitrogen Detection. It is a lab method used to measure the exact amount of nitrogen in a sample. CLND helps determine the purity and concentration of nitrogen-containing compounds, such as peptides, even when a perfect reference standard is not available.

CLND applications in concentration and peptide purity reporting
CLND helps labs calculate concentrations of nitrogen-containing compounds from a generic nitrogen curve and is useful in lab reports for measuring peptide content, purity, and hidden nitrogen-containing impurities that UV detection may miss.
Technical limitations of CLND detection
- CLND measures amount but not identity.
- Needs Mass Spectrometry for identity confirmation.
- Misses non-nitrogen impurities such as salts or solvents.
- Is not a safety test for toxins.
