Anabolic-androgenic steroid

An anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) is a natural or synthetic hormone derived from testosterone that promotes tissue-building and male characteristics. In lab testing, products are screened for anabolic-androgenic steroids to detect accidental contamination or mislabeling with these drugs.
